The Faithful One

I have a faithful God. He will always be with me, through every trial. We, as Christians, have no hope without Christ. He is the source of our strength and joy. We will always have issues and trouble but we have to have faith that the faithful one will guide us through them all. As you go through the day, look for evidences of the faithful one in your life, and praise Him for it.

A mighty fortress is our God!

Many times we lose our focus on God and His glory. As human beings we think that we are really important, but really we're not. Our God is great! He is a "consuming fire, [and] a burning holy Flame." His name is a refuge for us to run to when we need Him. We have a great God. Today as your going through your day think about His great name and rejoice in Him. He is our mighty fortress and our great rock. Trust in Him! :)

I have run the race!

Today one of my really good friends got into a college for soccer. When she first called me I freaked out! She had wanted to be accepted soooo bad and it finally happened. One of the main reasons that she chose her school is because of the soccer program, and I knew that she was excited to start. As I was thinking about her and soccer and college I realized that all of her life had led up to this point, especially her love for soccer. She had great determination and endurance through her life in order to become as good as she has, and if she didn’t work hard than she wouldn’t be in this place right now. She saw something that she wanted and worked hard to get it, she ran steadfastly after it. The same can be said about our lives as Christians! We have to be active in our relationship with God and constantly be trying to grow in Him. We need to run our races with endurance and not give up. At times our journey may get hard and we may want to stop. There will be days where we won’t see what God is doing in our lives and we won’t want to let Him mold and shape our hearts into what He wants them to be. There will be circumstances that God puts us through that hurt a lot and that we don’t think that we can get through, but God is there to help us finish our race! Run your race with endurance and then glory in the prize, eternal life!

I am

Through all of our lives God is there. Many times we can't see Him at work in our lives, but He is always there. When we are children and we are scared and feel all alone God is there to wrap us in His arms and be our "superhero." When we grow a little older we can give our broken hearts and spirits to God and He will heal them. Even when we feel like we have no friends, He will be our best friend in the whole world. Through every point and time in our lives He will always be there to comfort and guide us. He will be our “Creator, Maker, Life-sustainer, Comforter, Healer, Redeemer, Lord and King.” He will be our everything. As you go through the rest of the day, remember that whatever you do you have God on your side. He will bring you through every trial and uncomfortable circumstance. If God brings you to something then He will bring you through it. Have faith and believe in that. One song that reminds me of this truth is "I am" by Nicole Nordeman :)

Set the World on Fire!

Every person has a desire to fit in and be accepted, so a phrase like set the world on fire is something that not many of us want to do. However, God calls us to be different and live in the world and not of the world. He wants us to set the world on fire and change the world around us. If we don't live every day trying to make a difference then what are we really doing? What is our purpose in life? I love how Britt Nicole puts it in her song Set the World on Fire. In it she says "I am small but You are big enough. I am weak but You are strong enough. Take my dreams, come and give them wings, Lord with You there's nothing I can't do." That is an amazing truth! We are small and weak, but we serve an amazing, all-powerful God. He can take our dreams and bring us beyond anything that we could have ever imagined. Trust in Him today. I can't promise that your life will be perfect, but I can say that you will have a God that will never leave you or forsake you. Rest in that :)

Everyday we go through things that don't make sense. People hurt us and let us down, and in the middle of all of that we can feel as if we are all alone with no one to turn to. However, when we feel like that we need to remember that we are not alone, and our Savior is always there to pick us up and rebuild our hearts in the warmth and safety of His hands. Don't feel alone, even when people walk away and you feel discouraged, give your heart to the healer and let Him put it back together again.

Amazing Because it is

Yesterday in chapel at my school we had an amazing time of worship. One of the best that we've had in awhile. In the middle of one of the songs I really stopped to think about the words, "Lord, I'm amazed by You, how You love me." In my mind I didn't really think much of them in practice, but during worship it hit me! God loves us! He didn't need to show His love toward us at all, he didn't even need to like us, but He did for His own good pleasure. Instead of seeing us in our sin and filth He saw us as covered by the blood of His Son. Without His love we would be nothing, and our lives wouldn't be worth living. However, because we have His boundless love given to us, we have the promise of being fully and completely accepted by Him. As a daughter of the King I don't have to look to the people around me for love, but I can look straight to the person that can love me with an eternal love. As your going through your day today, remember that God loves you, and be in awe by His love.
